It adds another dimension for viewers of our National Tour, Norman Rockwell: Pictures for the American People.--Maureen Hart Hennessey, Curator, The Norman Rockwell Museum, at Stockbridge, Massachusetts From November 1999 through February 2002, a blockbuster exhibition featuring the famous works of the Norman Rockwell, the American iconographer, will travel across the country he loved so much. To commemorate this tour, we are proud to present Norman Rockwell: A Pop-Up Art Experience. By using three-dimensional effects, this imaginatively designed pop-up book is a novel 10x10 display exhibit and entertaining way to experience the originality of Rockwell`s vision. The pop-up book opens to an idealized representation of Norman Rockwell`s hometown of Stockbridge, Massachusetts, where the viewer can take an imaginary stroll through the village: Visit the Norman Rockwell Museum, at Stockbridge where 11 of his works are on display; Peek into A Village Home where Practice 10x10 display exhibit and The Breakfast Table are recreated in 3-D; View Rockwell`s Studio (which is preserved to this day on the grounds of the Rockwell Museum) where eight paintings are on display including Triple Self Portrait; Observe a typical New England One-Room Schoolhouse which recreates Surprise,; Tour the four corners of the town, which feature favorite paintings such as Gone Fishing, Redhead Loves Hattie, 10x10 display exhibit and The Recruiting Officer among other scenes.
